5 Stars for Accuracy, 3 for Useability
I purchased the Accusplit AH190M28 pedometer several months ago because I was looking for an accurate pedometer. I wear it everywhere, almost every day. Previously, I used a pedometer that I received as an incentive to join a walking program, and it added 10-15 steps when it was jiggled. The Accusplit pedometer, is in contrast, extremely accurate. I have taken the time to calibrate it, and every so often, I check its accuracy when I walk on measured surfaces (track and field). I feel confident that the numbers the pedometer shows me at the end of the day what I've walked.
This paticular model offers many bells and whistles as it measures distance, calories burned, steps, rate of speed, and offers 7-day memory and timer. I find myself, however, just using the number of steps and the 7-day memory, but it's nice to see the other numbers.
While the accuracy of the product is outstanding and 5-star, its useability hovers at 3-stars. As people have noted, the pedometer's directions are poorly written at best (you can view them in advance at the Accusplit website), and the programming of the device is not very intuitive. It's not overly confusing to calibrate the pedometer or set up its clock, it's just that it is not as user-friendly as it could be. For intstance, I was looking forward to using the timer feature, but found it to be one of the most cumbersome features to use, which is odd because Accusplit also manufactures terrific timers. To use the timer one must open the pedometer's front panel, forward to the timer, and hit the right button. I expected just one button on the front cover to start and stop the timer It would have also been useful if the device came with an illuminated backlight.
I strongly recommend using the leash in addition to the metal clip. Even though the metal clip is stronger than many other pedometer clips (the metal is strong and doesn't crack like the cheaper plastic clips), it does slip off the waistband. The leash has saved my pedometer on many more than one occasion.
One thing to note is that I am able to wear the pedometer on a daily basis because I wear waistband clothes. A friend of mine who wears only dresses could not find a place to clip the pedometer. There are other pedometers that can be clipped to underwear or placed in purses. I am not sure if that is possible with this one (I've never tried it).
If you're looking for an extremely accurate pedometer (and don't mind taking the time to figure out the directions--again they are not impossible, just unclear), then this is an excellent choice.

Impossible to read or use
We tried for weeks to get this product to work, using a microscope to read the tiny letters and reading the instructions written in tortured English. It does not work, the printing on it cannot be read by human eyes, and no wonder the sellers refuse to accept them in return.

I hate it
It is way to complicated to use and the directions are TERRIBLE. I would like to return it.
My advice get a simple one and forget this product.

Steps for Life
I struggle to believe that this pedometer is 100% accurate. I emailed the company with questions but never received a response. I do use it every day. I do believe it is fairly accurate.

Not a Couch Potato
It is accurate, it is complete and it tells me when I have not done enough for the day. What more could I ask for? I couldn't be happier!
