Skateboarding has always been, first and for most, about having fun. As a professional, I've always wanted to be able to give back to the sport that has given me so much. One way to do that is to make skateboarding--fun skateboarding--more accessible to more kids. That's the idea behind Andy Mac Skateboards.

The age at which kids begin skateboarding has become much younger in the past five years. In most instances, these new skaters are not buying their boards at specialty skate shops. Rather, they get their board where their parents shop--at a discounter, mass merchandiser or a sporting goods chain. Most all skateboards found at these retailers are designed as toys, not sports equipment, meaning the quality and performance is poor, and the experience of using them not fun.

And I was getting pretty tired of seeing kids have a bad first experience on their new skateboard.

'Toy' skateboards are available just about everywhere these days and they cost about twenty bucks. Although they look like true skateboards, they definitely are not. A real skateboard turns when you want it to turn and has wheels that grip and roll smoothly. Traditionally, the only place to find such a product was in a specialty shop, where even a first-time skater must spend more than a hundred dollars for a 'complete' board. That’s a lot of money for a new skater or their parent to spend--more than most can afford. That's where my brand comes in.

ride when I street skate. And I even use a modified version of this board in all my vert competitions! I spent two years developing this board with Powell Skateboards, a company that has been building skateboards for almost thirty years. The idea was that if we can build it good enough for me, it’ll be good enough for any new skater.

I want kids to have an awesome first experience skateboarding and I know my boards can provide that. My hope is that kids all over the world will discover the same fun and enjoyment I get from skateboarding every day.

- Great board
I recently start skateboarding and needed a pro skateboard. I did my research and found that Andy Mac boards were the best choice for what I was looking for. They are made for beginners with pro quality and did not cost the same, they're cheaper.
The board is really good, and durable. I'm having fun and learning with this board. So if your a dad or mom and your kids are bugging you to get a board, don't be a cheapskate (no pun intended) and buy a Wal-mart one that'll break in 28 seconds.
My friends that have been skating for a while all agree that I got a good board for the price I paid. I hope this review helped.

This is an amazing board for the price. I am not an experienced skateboarder at all, but I can compare quality. This board is much better made than the stuff at big stores for a similar price.

Its hard to wrong with this board. I just wish Andy Mac made long boards.

My son received this for Christmas 06 and still uses it although it's seen a lot of abuse. This is a quality made board with quality components made by a company that stands behind their product. We had a problem with one of the wheels and the company instantly sent a replacement wheel. As most avid skateboarders do, my son replaced his wheels with Spitfire Wheels and surprisingly the Andy Mac wheels were faster! We also changed out the bearings to some more expensive ones and it didn't make a difference. The ones included in this complete skateboard are of good quality. The board is holding up as well as his friends $100 completes so I would highly recommend this as a budget priced quality skateboard.

I bought this skateboard for my 12 year old grandson and he loves it. He's broken a few discount store boards (even tho he's not heavy at all)so I wanted a little better quality board. He has been very happy with this skateboard.

I bought this board for my 7 yr old. He needed something more than a toy skatebaord, but I didn't want to spend more than $50. I think this board was a great value. It has held up very well, and seems to be working great as a entry-level 'real' skateboard - it is sturdy and rides smoothly, and appears to be a little slower than our other skateboards - which I think is good for my beginner. My older son skates (on more expensive boards, wheels & trucks), and I will catch him riding this board also. We have been very pleased with this skateboard.
