Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Slow and unstable
I purchased this scooter for my 9 year old son after spending hours reading reviews (on several models). I finally just settled for this one since it was in my desired price range and bears the name Razor. It was fairly simple to put together and charge. When I took it on it's test run (fully charged) it was slow compared to others I had ridden. It also felt wobbly. The steering column is able to spin all the way around - there's no limit. Given it's vertical position I felt like a rock or change in terrain (street to driveway, etc.) would cause problems. Also, know that I'm pretty much a dare-devil so not overly cautious. Even though I realized that I would lose in shipping it back I felt that it was worth it to get another one. I sent it back - and haven't replaced my sons top Christmas present, yet. Any suggestions?

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Scooter Makes Fun Gift
We followed the guidlines for charging the battery to the letter after reading other reviews. We have not had any problem with the battery or the sooter running at full speed. The scooter is easy to ride and everyone who rides it loves it. Having to charge the battery for 18 hours initially makes it a cruel present. My daughter had to wait until 6 PM Christmas day to ride it the first time. Luckly I read the instructions and started charging at midnight the night before. So if you give this as a gift, start charging it 18 hours before giving it. The scooter only runs for 45 minutes to an hour before needing 12 hours of battery charge time again. I would have rated the scooter as a 5 star if the battery charge time were not so long. She gets to ride it once a day and then has to charge again. Now that she is back in school this works fine. I would not reccommend this scooter for kids under 10. It runs 15 mph and shorter kids can't sit on the seat and drive it. The scooter is also easy to drive without the seat, but the seat makes it a little easier to learn. The wide tires and wide deck make it very easy to learn to drive. My daugter is very happy with it a month after Christmas, so that is always a good measure of a gift. She has always wanted a motorized toy and this was a much better gift than the little plastic vehicles. It runs faster and will even handle adults up to 220 pounds, so I have ridden it as well. Finidng gifts that 12 year olds want for Christmas can be tough. This was a good choice and it gets her outside and away from the TV.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Scooter!
My wife and I bought this scooter for my 13 year-old daighter for a Christmas gift. I did my research of this scooter by the reviews on Amazon.com. The scooter assembled easily and quickly with no missing parts. However, I need to mention that the rear tire valve stem adapter is located in the right handle bar. You must remove the rubber plug at the end. The adapter is in the rubber plug. this si not stated in the istruction manula. I had to go to the RAZOR web site to find that out. It would be nice for RAZOR to update their manual. The sccoter charged in less than 12 hrs even though I left it on for 18 hrs per the instruction manual. My daughter rode it Christmas morning and had a blast. The scooter gets up to at least 15 mph. Since we have been using the scooter, the battery re-charges in 6 hours or less now. The fit and finish are sound and the design is good. We get about 45 to 50 minutes of charge time from the batteries. Yes, it seems lop-sided for the ride time vs charge time. However, my daughter is done riding after about 30 minutes anyway. I put it on charge for the next day.

    Overall, great little machine!

Hope this helps somone make a purchase decision.

    :)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - scooter needs special care
this scooter is loads of fun. however, in cold weather climates, the scooter and battery needs to be kept inside when not in use. also, the charge lasts for about 30-40 minutes. then you need to re-charge for 8 hours. kind of a pain but a fun scooter overall.

    Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good fun for a pre-teen
I bought this for my 11 year old son. He has enjoyed it quite a bit. The construction of the product is good and it is very easy to put together. It does have some get up and go but it is something that an 11-14 year old can easily handle. Down hill it does easily go over 15 mph that the product description gives. The battery lasts about 30-40 minutes during constant usage. There are replacement batteries available for longer continued use but the problem with that is that the battery is secured in the under body of the scooter. Tt can not easily and quickly be pulled out and changed. Recharge of the completely drained battery takes about 6.75 hours.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

    1. What does your monthly budget look like?
    2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
    3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
    4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
    5. What are your big milestones?
    6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

    1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
    2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
    3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
    4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
    5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
    6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

In a counterattack to Apple's Mac vs. PC ads, Microsoft plans to hire comedian Jerry Seinfeld in an ad campaign to beef up its stodgy corporate image and reverse recent misfires with its Vista operating system and Zune media player.

Netflix said today that unspecified problems that delayed the shipment of millions of DVDs to customers this week have been fixed.
