Brand: SeaSense EAN: 0737765777808 Label: SeaSense Manufacturer: SeaSense Publisher: SeaSense Studio: SeaSense Rating: - Seasense Kayak paddleThis is a fantastic paddle, I have a 96" as well. I did not pay attention to the length and this one seems rather short, but I was able to mix pieces of both and make 2 perfect length paddles. They are built wonderfully and the fact that they are in 2 pieces makes it great for transporting. Rating: - Seasense Paddle Not Made for OceanI bought the product because it was the least expensive option. These are not meant for hard paddling, like trying to ride waves in the ocean. They're made by Seasense, but not made for the sea. The shape of the paddle is flat as opposed to rounded, making it harder to paddle. The grips, which I thought would be nice, slip while you are paddling. Also the paint scratches off easily after one or two uses. Altogether, I got what I paid for, but I would advise you to spend the extra money if you want to get something for the ocean. Rating: - Excellent paddles These kayak paddles work very well! They are easy to handle and are durable/well built. I have 2 of them for my double sit on top kayak. They have a great price for their high quality Rating: - Cheap paddle ONLY FOR STILL WATER!WOULD BE A HECK OF A LOT BETTER DEAL IF THE COMPANY DIDN'T CHARGE $20 TO SHIP IT!!!!!! Not a horrible paddle, but I was honestly expecting more. The socket that holds the 2 ends together is cheap and wobbily, but it is nice this is so light. I would never use this on anything more than still water. If you plan on using your kayak on more than this, invest in a better paddle, or you will just have to buy another one. Rating: - Cheap yet light, functional kayak paddleWhile there are certainly better paddles out there, this one is excellent for the money. It's relatively light (probably the lightest decent quality paddle you could get for the price), has very nice grips and includes drip guards that are as functional as any (read: not incredibly, but reasonably). This is a short paddle for those who prefer power strokes at steep angles of entry into the water. For those looking for touring paddles that you put into the water at a less steep angle (for an easier stroke that doesn't generate quite as much speed), you might consider going longer (90"+ range; kayak paddles shouldn't be based on your height so much as your paddling style). Overall, I recommend ... Read More |
Maybe it's because I have the hugest crush on David Pogue of the New York Times, but I find his recently released product finder guide, the Pogue-O-matic, absolutely adorable... and useful too! The Pogue-O-Matic is divided into four parts: cameras, camcorders, smartphones and televisions. If you were planning on getting people any of the above for the holidays, stop by and have little e-Pogue explain what details you should look out for. Being a gadget blogger with a finger on the pulse of the latest and greatest, I personally don't need the advice. But I'll be stopping by anyway... for you, Pogue. Just. For. You.
