Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - good for the price
It does what is says it will do. Doesn't put out a wind storm but a breeze. Rotates well. Good for a small area.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty good
Circulated my room, which didn't get a whole lot of the air conditioning's current, and kept it pretty nice. I wouldn't say it did a fantastic job, but for 25 bucks, it sure as hell did. It just died on me, only sorta kinda running now, about a week ago, and I'm going to replace it with another one. I had it for five years; I'd say it's worth it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent with the price of about $20
When you rate a product you bought, you should take into account the price for sure. What would you expect with $20 fan? Are you going to give 5 stars on $100 fan and 1 star on $10 fan? This one is working much better than what we can expect from one whose price is about $20. Even I didn't pay for tax nor delivery, so I paid only the price tag itself. It is reasonably powerful so you can be cool if you are within 6~7 feet, it is relatively quiet even when it is on the strongest setting (level 3), and it oscillates as well. The exterior design is not so ugly but quite good though it is really cheap. I did some research on fans here and there, but if you can get a free delivery deal, this is the best fan out of ones below $30. As I said, please don't anticipate the quality of $100 fan from this cheap one.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Beware of this cheap fan!!! Manufacturing defect...
I ordered this fan with an amazon gift card and later regretted it badly. The fan came in a cardboard box which was already opened. The fan had a manufacturing defect out of the box - the blades were out of their casing and the fan made a loud noise on the first run itself. Out of frustation, wanted to return this asap, but alas! the terms clearly state that this item cannot be returned to amazon.com but only to manufacturer and the shipping would probably cost more than the fan itself!! Beware and stay away from this piece of junk!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Decent for the Price
I'm sort of surprised by a former reviewer's title of "Excellent Quality," as I think the quality is average (at best). I bought 2 of these as well as a Lasko 40-Inch Elite Wind Tower with Remote Control, and the Lasko's quality is FAR superior (granted, the Lasko is double the price). These Holmes fans ARE decent for the price though.

Pros:
Decent air volume/movement
Price
Not too noisy (again, keeping price in mind)

Cons:
Controls feel "cheap," and you have to really push the buttons in firmly to change a setting.
While the base seems reasonably stable, the fans are a bit wobbly at the oscillation joint.

Not trashing these by any stretch of the imagination, but average quality is a more realistic description.
