Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionWhile the most important characteristic in Keen's Targhee II trail running shoe is the stability, the innovative breathable comfort steals the show when you're on the go. Unlike other trail running shoe manufacturers who opt for using the same waterproof membranes found on practically every running shoe on the market, Keen took a route less traveled and used a new eVENT membrane fabric with Dry System Technology for better breathable comfort in wet weather. The difference is one that you can feel--most waterproof/breathable technologies require that perspiration condenses to moisture before it can pass through the membrane. eVENT membrane fabric allows sweat to pass through in vapor form, so your feet don't feel soaked in sweat like you would in other weatherproof trail running shoes. Besides the dry socks, the Targhee II is exceptionally stable. In the heel you'll find Keen's S3 heel support structure, a special shock-absorbing design that's engineered to support your foot on impact, minimizing your chances of twisting an ankle on rolling terrain. Keen's Targhee II is a great shoe for covering big distances on damp days throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Features:
  • Named the Best Value lightweight hiking shoe in the 2007 Backpacker magazine Gear Guide
  • Rugged and waterproof leather upper
  • Groundbreaking Keen eVENT waterproof and breathable membrane
  • Impact-absorbing S3 support structure along midsole
  • Aggressive blown rubber traction tread for all-terrain stability

Maybe it's because I have the hugest crush on David Pogue of the New York Times, but I find his recently released product finder guide, the Pogue-O-matic, absolutely adorable... and useful too! The Pogue-O-Matic is divided into four parts: cameras, camcorders, smartphones and televisions. If you were planning on getting people any of the above for the holidays, stop by and have little e-Pogue explain what details you should look out for. Being a gadget blogger with a finger on the pulse of the latest and greatest, I personally don't need the advice. But I'll be stopping by anyway... for you, Pogue. Just. For. You.
