Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionThe Klean Kanteen 12oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle is excellent for little ones learning how to drink on their own. Pick your style cap. Having an insulated tote is key as it keeps their little hands warm and the beverage warm or cold - whichever you prefer. You may machine wash the Neoprene totes and put the bottles in the dishwasher. However, I have found that hand washing both works much better. The dishwasher cannot get into the Kanteens very well. Buy a bottle washing brush at your grocery store. About the Neoprene Insulated Totes: *Same as wetsuit material so very durable and washable *Maintains temperature of the bottle contents for a 3 hours *Made by Built NY

Features:
  • The Klean Kanteen is durable, lightweight, dishwasher safe, no aluminum or lead.
  • Neoprene Tote is machine washable, stain resistant and drip dry. Nice snug fit on the bottle.
  • Purchase includes: A Klean Kanteen 12 oz Bottle with your choice of cap and 1 Neoprene Tote color of your choice.
  • Pick your 12oz Klean Kanteen Style Cap. Then choose what color insulated tote you want.
  • Totes keep your little one's beverage warm or cold for up to 4 hours. No more condensation. Padded and Squishy

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Don't put Advent valve in the dishwasher!
As I posted in reply to another post, I think the issue with the white Advent lid leaking is that this person put it in the dishwasher. It clearly says on the packaging that the valve on the Advent lids is not dishwasher safe. From my own experience, when my husband accidentally put one of these in the dishwasher it completely destroyed the valve and we had to throw it out. Those that I have taken apart and washed by hand have lasted for the last year and are still going strong (used every day by my 18 month old). You do sometimes have to soak them if the little holes get clogged, but that's about it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - My son loves this as a sippy
It doesn't get 5 stars because, as per the prior review, yes, I do experience that this sippy leaks. It has more to do with the avent mouth piece than the Klean Kanteen adaptor, and nothing to do with the bottle. I have both the Foogo and KK, the Klean Kanteen with the sippy top does not put air in the beverage and my son is less gassy. The Foogo does make bubbles. And even though my son is 13 months now, he gets nipple confusion with the soft tip of the Foogo, and thinks he can gnaw on me like that too!! The slight leaking from the KK is not worrisome enough to me. It's only a few drops here and there, and the trade off is worth it.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - 12 oz Sippy LEAKS, LEAKS,LEAKS. Buy Thermos Foogo
The Advent sippy top leaks profusely. When you fill the bottle, it is fine. As soon as the child drinks, the sucking action draws liquid between the valve and the lid. We they stop drinking, the liquid then pours out of the air hole opposite the drink spout. Buy the Thermos Foogo they work PERFECTLY and do not leak EVER. only reason it gets 1 star is you cannot review it with out rating at least 1 star!!

The powerful black holes at the center of massive galaxies and galaxy clusters act as hearts to the systems, pumping energy out at regular intervals to regulate the growth of the black holes themselves, as well as star formation, according to new data from NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory.

Meraki offers wall plug, solar unit, apartment package: Meraki has added two products to its line up. A wall plug ($179) can be screwed into an outlet's center screw hole for theft prevention and stability, perfect for hotels and public venues. The long-awaited solar product is nearly ready, with a 4-December ship date ($749 with no solar panel up to $1,499 with highest-end panel).

Meraki switched battery technology to lithium iron-phosphate during the year-long delay, partly due to an increase in cost and shortage in solar panels. Meraki's also got a new bundle: $5,000 for a set of nodes designed to cover an apartment building.

Over at Ars Technica, I wrote a long recap of the state of municipal Wi-Fi, noting that Meraki seems to be on the winning side of the equation with its start-small approach. A number of municipal wireless projects (not all Wi-Fi) are getting rave reviews. We may be over the hump: applications (purposes as it were) are now driving network building rather than networks seeking reasons to be.

Violet prepares to ship an RFID tag reader, Mir:ror: The new device plugs in via USB to a computer and can read standard RFID tags, as well as new ones offered by the company. Some of Violet's tags look like postage stamps and are adhesive; others, like tiny versions of their Nabaztag/tag bunny. It's weird, but interesting, like all their stuff.

Qualcomm brings in Skyhook's Wi-Fi positioning: Qualcomm becomes the latest GPS giant to add Skyhook Wireless's technology to their platform. The gpsOne system, found in 400 million cell phones, will be enhanced in future versions with an option for Skyhook data to assist and integrate with GPS lookups. Qualcomm's sold so many chipsets due to E911 requirements for location finding.
