Works great for kids a little older!
I used this on my 4 1/2 year old that was sucking her thumb and wouldn't stop no matter what. It worked great because she could understand that it would taste awful and was afraid to put it in her mouth. She stopped immediately and we haven't had to apply it since. We also tried it on my 3 year old who just couldn't help himself at night and unfortunately he threw up from it. We are going to wait a little while before trying it again and in the meantime do the usual things to help him to stop. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product and would recommend it for those kids who can understand a little better and are a little older.

Works like a charm!
I used this for my two and half year old daughter who has been sucking thumb ever since she was a week old and had started to use her thumb sucking as a weapon because she knew it irritated us. First time I applied it and she tasted it, she threw her thumb out but since it was night time and she couldn't fall asleep without thumb she put it back in and I thought "this is not going to work". 5 minutes later she threw up everything and I got scared, but thought of applying it one more time and it worked. First week she cried every night because she didn't get her soothing, but a week later she even stopped trying to put her thumb in mouth. I didn't have to apply it more than 5 times. So I would definitely recommend this product if you have a constant thumb sucker.

The only solution that worked
My daughter began sucking her thumb fiercely at 18 months old when her baby sister was born. Then she began sucking her thumb while using her other fingers to rub the tip of her nose. She did this so much and so hard that she literally rubbed an open wound into the tip of her nose. She'd had the "boo boo" for a year and we had tried everything to get her to stop -- socks on her hands, tape on her nose, commercial thumb guards, threats, bribes, EVERYTHING. We even had her in counseling to figure out what could be causing her to scar herself like this. Then, on a whim, I bought Mavala Stop. I only had to put in on her thumbnail every other day for a week. And she has not sucked her thumb or rubbed her nose since -- and that was about a month ago. This is by far the longest she has ever gone.
Thank God for this product. It has saved my little girl from infections, scars, and who knows what else. Thank you!!!!

Great but ....
This is a great product for the purpose it serves, but it is really bitter, i guess thats the whole point of it. My child would have everything she touched become bitter, i wish there was a way it could just stay on the nail without getting everything else bitter too.It did stop her from putting her fingers in her mouth though so I would still say it is a good product overall.

Great Product
This product is great! Our 3 year old daughter stopped sucking her thumb completely within 2 weeks. We are now using it on our 5 year old son to help him stop biting his fingernails. I highly recommend Mavala Stop! It's a great value.
