charming old school adobe handbook
You'd know this book was written in the early 1900's without ever seeing the copyright. The terrific illustrations of exterior and interior views clearly depict earlier times -- from the sparse furnishings, no televisions, and ice boxes, to the Leave It to Beaver families strolling , horseback riding, and red wagon-pulling by. Perhaps the most anachronistic element is that of the numerous floor plans provided, only one shows a three bedroom home. The rest are one and two bedroom homes, with the two bedroom home listed under the caption "FOR LARGER FAMILIES"!!
Despite the book's reflection of outdated living patterns -- or perhaps because of this -- the book has a charm of it's own. I could never squeeze my "large" family of four into the largest of the featured homes, yet I find myself wanting to try. As a remodeller of adobes, I leaf through this resource for ideas before beginning any new project. I find this book to be as valueable a resource as anything in my adobe library.
One bonus is a complete set of instructions for building a horno oven -- something which I have not found anywhere else -- and other adobe construction techniques that are as timeless as this little gem of a book.
While there is minor mention of solar adobes, this book heavily favors the traditional form and living patterns of 1930's adobes. A fun read for anyone interested in adobes!

Best ball!!!
This is without a doubt the best ball on the market. I am a PGA Member and know this for fact. However, you would have to be crazy to buy these on here for $60/dozen when you can go to any pro shop and spend only $45 on a dozen. Just a heads up!

A very good ball, now even better!
When the Pro-V's came out they were very good, a nice combination of enough spin for short irons, driver distance & control and putting feel. But they did have seams and weren't perfectly round. They went through original, star and a one or two more iterations before the current edition two models they now have - regular and 'X'. This ball can help your game if you're breaking 100 regularly. The regular ball suitable for swing speeds of less than 100 has a softer feel and is less 'clicky' off the putter. The X ball is optimized for a faster swing but is also OK for those wanting a harder feel. I find with my 95-100 swing speed that the X ball is just a tad shorter. This ball does everything you want a ball to do. That's why it rules at every level of competitive golf. I just wish they were $2/ball or less!

Yeah, these are the best balls you can hit, but they aren't error correcting because....
Yeah, these are the best balls you can hit, but they aren't error correcting because they are designed to be power faded and sliced. This means they won't attempt to error correct like a "Straight" ball. Pro players love Pro v1's since they can side spin them with "english" to power fade them around the dogleg.
If you have a slice or hook, this ball will only remind you of your imperfections as your $5+ golf ball glides into the rough, marsh or the water hazard.
The best Pro v1 tip, wait until you are consistently hitting straight before you buy them, until then, consider the Titlelist NXT, you can also use the NXT tour but the tour version is meant for shot shapers and will mimic the Pro v1 when it comes to showing off your imperfections.
